land records manager
As the record officer, the county recorder transcribes and maintains for perpetuity any and all types of documents which affect title to real property. The land records insure a permanent record of property ownership and complete title
ucc/cns
The county recorder's statewide computer service links all 53 counties and the Secretary of State's office. The UCC/CNS statewide system provides a secure, expedient and accurate method to process, store and retrieve personal property liens for both debtors and secured parties. The Secretary of State's website can be accessed at www.state.nd.us\sec\
marriage licenses, passports, will depository, birth and death information
The Property & Records department handles passport applications, issues marriage licenses, holds wills for safe keeping, and can provide birth and death information for county residents. To order birth and death certificates, the Division of Vital Records-North Dakota can be accessed at www.vitalnd.com. Passport information can be obtained at www.travel.state.gov
tax equalization
The Property & Records department works with township and city assessors in the county to insure that a uniform assessment of all real property will prevail. Also, mobile home moving permits and tax statements are issued by this department.
